ABOUT ME

I began making jewelry in my garage in 2015. My pieces are still each entirely unique, handmade and one-of-a-kind. I was heavily influenced by memories of my older sister’s beautiful jewelry as a teenager- she collected chunky silver jewelry with translucent stones, from her travels around the world. Garnets and black onyx also made the special cut. I was lucky to inherit some of these pieces as her tastes changed.
.
I worked in the vintage clothing industry for many years, which opened my eyes to stunning accessories- pieces so special, I would never see others like them. These pieces would often outshine the clothing I was trying to showcase! I was inspired by the large & bold, magical jewelry- just as much as the small & strong, everyday talismans.
.
Ancient adornments and artifacts in general have also carved their way into my craft. I traveled quite a bit as a child and viewed so many museum exhibits from centuries long forgotten. The past echoed in my head. I want my pieces to feel like they have been there forever, worn through time, but with a non-traditional, streamlined finish.
.
The movement of vast, open water creates an energy I reflect in my work. Both fire and water are directly essential to my process.
.
My pieces often symbolize the physical projections of my feelings at that time- with a special emphasis on the concept of Controlled Chaos. Naturally imperfect- yet polished and smooth. Music is ever present in my jewelry- always listening; I could not create without it!

Sustainability

While working in the vintage clothing industry, I witnessed an insane amount of waste through consumerism. I make it a point to reduce as much unnecessary waste as I can- in my everyday life and in my jewelry making. I do this through using mostly recycled metals in my process. What is sometimes considered waste (filing dust, etc.), I turn into a usable feature- like adding raw texture to many pieces. I also use discarded post-consumer products (such as candlesticks or salt shakers, etc.) to directly recycle metal. I collect broken jewelry secondhand and repurpose the stones, in addition to re-using the metal.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

In 2020 I designed an exclusive collection for Austin, Texas- based textile artist, Life of Vice. This now sold-out collection consisted of solid sterling silver bands with randomized silverdust overlay- one of my favorite techniques, in varying widths.
These pieces complemented the other offerings in the boutique as a beautiful mixture of soft & rough- another display of “patterns.”
